Who we are
Sphere Connect are a sports events and marketing company specialising in supporting the creation, development and execution of high-quality sporting events Europe wide. Sphere Connect are also the leading organisation in the UK for ACES Europe (European Cities and Capitals of Sports Federation) for the assessment and awarding of Capitals, Cities, Towns and Communities for Sport.
Sphere Connect has been created to offer advice and help brands, businesses and stakeholders on how best to develop, manage and deliver, as well as secure sponsorship funding for events with a particular specialism in unlocking the commercial opportunities that are available through forming multiple partnerships across the public and private sector.
The Managing Director and Owner of the company, Michelle Vorel-Adams has over 20 year’s experience in the leisure, sport, business and events industry to a senior management level within the both the public and private sector. Michelle is a graduate from Keele University with a first-class Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an international project discipline as well as holding the very prestigious and key role of UK President for ACES Europe.
Since inception in April 2017, the company has gone from strength to strength and is currently working on a number of key sport and business assignments in partnership with the public and private sector in key cities across the UK and European destinations such as Italy, Slovakia and Czech Republic. Sphere Connect has both a UK and international office in the Czech Republic.
What we do
Leading from a thorough understanding of the client's business and communication objectives, allied to a deep knowledge of the UK sporting landscape, and the audiences that it offers, we recommend programmes and solutions to clients that are sustainable, effective and most of all successful.
Sphere Connect’s services include:
- Advice and assistance with strategy (sponsorship, bidding, event and/or content), development and management of activation and support programmes for major events.
- Logistical assistance and advice for events, risk assessments and technical expertise.
- A thorough understanding of the market and opportunities available for amateur, professional and mass participation events across a range of sports.
Sphere Connect are currently part of the team supporting two major international sports events companies, World Corporate Games and the SweetSpot Group as well as being a key player in the ACES Europe organisation based in Brussels.
GDPR and Personal Data
When we act as a data controller:
In the purpose of conducting our business Sphere Connect Limited. will often act as a data controller as defined under the GDPR. The information below sets out how we mange this process to make sure we comply with the law and respect the privacy of peoples personal data. Most of the data we have is held on an anonymous basis and thus falls outside of the scope of the GDPR.
What we do with any personal data that we hold:
Sphere Connect Limited respects the privacy of those who visit our web site or contact the company in any other way. No personal data is collected by our website about you, any data you choose to give by contacting us will only ever be used in one of the following ways:
- To enable us to respond to your enquiry;
- To aid us in undertaking work which we have been commissioned to do or to undertake a different kind of contractual relationship where this applies;
- To help keep you updated on our activities, and then only when you have asked us to do this;
- To undertake our legitimate legal business interests as defined via GDPR.
Your personal information:
You can ask at any time to get a copy of any data we hold on you, we will give this free of charge within one month of the request being made. Should you wish us to exercise you legal right to be forgotten and ask us to delete you data we are happy to do so. Any personal data, such as the contact details of past customers which are more than five years old will be deleted as a matter of routine unless you request that it is retained or this is related an responsibility associated with a piece of work you have commissioned us to do that requires that this data remains available. For example in case you ever need to access a copy we will hold a digital copy of any successful grant applications we have prepared for you until any claw back or monitoring period for the grant expires.
All personal data we hold is stored in a secure way.
Third party information:
Where ever possible we try to work in such a way as to remove the need for us to directly hold personal data about third parties such as such as the members of a sports club we are working with. Where this is unavoidable and personal data is provided to us by a client about third parties such as members of their organisation, such as to enable us to complete a piece of work on their behalf, this data is accepted by Sphere Connect Limited on the explicit understanding that they have the consent of those involved to share this information. Such data will be held in a secure way and only used for the explicit purpose for which it was provided and after this is compete it will be deleted immediately.
When we act as a data processor:
On some occasions Sphere Connect Limited will also act as a data processor, for example we may make a planning application on your behalf to the local planning authority which includes personal information such as your contact details. Where this happens we will make sure you are aware of this in advance and consent to this sharing taking place.
