Sphere Connect were approached by a young entrepreneur in 2019 who had an innovative concept – to launch a new line of eco-friendly, sustainable boutique cycling studios – with the first one planned for central Manchester. We were engaged to provide commercial support, project manage the start-up, and lead with the construction and development aspects of the project.
We worked alongside the owner to develop the brand and take CXR from
a concept to a full project plan and used our network to engage specialist suppliers including: architects, planning, construction and fit out, recruitment, marketing and training provision. For the first six months of development, we successfully project managed all aspects and in March 2020 the project stakeholders undertook a review in light of enormity of the Covid-19 situation and impact – as a result the development has temporarily been put on hold.
Our project management and support to the owner has been critical to the development up to the pause point and our role in the review was key to helping inform the decision making process. The specialist skills and contacts we have involved in the project have proven to be essential thus far, acknowledged as such by the owner.
Whilst the project is on pause due to Covid-19, we have provided the owner with a strong foundation for the CXR brand and developed the infrastructure to support the restart of the project when the wider economic climate is more favourable.
